Melanie Greenwood, MPT, HPCS
I have been working in the physical therapy field for over 20+
years, starting out as a Physcial Therapy Assistant (PTA), before returning to school to seek a BS and eventually
a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy in 2000. Over my years of service, I have worked in a variety of therapeutic
settings with ages from birth to geriatrics and found my heart was into pediatrics. Working with children and
teaching families is very gratifying.
My resume is constantly expanding but I am proud to be involved in
many facets of total wellness. My post graduate education and training includes over 300 hours of training in
Integrative Manual Therapy from Center IMT in Bloomfield, CT. Further training includes Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) of the Infant and Young Child with Cerebral Palsy, Assessment and Treatment of Children with Multi-Sensory, Attentional, and Interactional Problems.

After graduating from River Valley Community
College with a Physical Therapist Assistant degree in 2015 I began working with Leaps & Bounds. I bring to the practice
8 (plus) years of experience with Integrated Manual Therapy (IMT) and previous experience working with children with sensory
disorder, complex medical needs and anxiety. An interest in essential oils and nutrition help round out a variety of unique
tools I bring to the treatment environment. A recently added specialization I have obtained is in primitive reflex integration. I love the diversity of pediatrics and meeting kids where they are at that day; from an abundance of energy, learning
new motor skills to strengthening and return to play after an injury. Areas that will be further developed are continuing
with IMT coursework and further developing skills to work with children with sensory disorder and autism.
